Author's ICQ: 25269716
Name of Map: Epic Wasteland V1
Primary Map Type: Desert.
Secondary Map Type: Desert.
Size of Map:
   Zipped: .726MB
   Unzipped: .72MB
   Memory Used: 128MB
   Map Size: 63 X 63
Maximum Number of Players: 10
Tested: For several days. :P
Tools Used: Annihilator 1.5, PaintShop Pro 5.
Known Bugs: Tell an airplane to fly across the whole map and he may go backwards. This is apparently a problem with the main game engine. I don't think unit AI was optimized for pathfinding on insanely large maps.

Technical: Simply put, building "The Epic Series" of maps has been my life for the past couple months. Every tile, height, and piece of eye candy was carefully planned and moved until ideal. This has nearly driven me nuts. I love insanely huge maps because they are like real battlefields. Not like smaller maps that are like wrestling rings. In truth this map is not finished. Or at least what I would call finished. It would take a few more months to reach perfection. I'll release future versions. Contact me if you have ideas. But future releases are some time off. And I figured out how to hack things for it a couple months ago that will blow your minds. Secrets for now though...

Also, I should say that 128MB RAM is not really enough. It should be playable if you have an effecient machine, but 256MB barely cuts it for games with 10 AIs. And how else could you play a game with this much space? I guess you could turn on fog of war and play hide and seek with planes...

I would like to introduce to you, absolutely nothing. That's right, this map has nothing. No water, no features, no wind, and no metal. That's right. NO METAL! First Cavedog brought you metal maps, then they brought you maps with a few spots of metal, now I bring you a map with no metal. Needless to say you'll be getting all your metal from metal makers and con units. Oh yeah, the AI is utterly useless on this map. It just stands there. It is dumbfounded. I'm sure many TA players will be too. I must admit this was a brave new concept for me to release. But I think it is the ultimate "default" map for the 63X63 screen crowd. Anyways, it may be plain, but that's the point of this map. I think it deserves a straight series of 6's as a rating...

Story: The enemy is taking over this planet. We have no idea why. But we plan to put a stop to it.
